do you have a dealer in the Los Angeles area?
No on locally, about 2-3 gallons for 500 sq. feet for one coat and 4-5 gallons for two coats if needed. You can get samples here:

We live in nj and have a 500 sq ft deck currently being stripped after 30 years of buildup. Queries. How much stain do we need? How many coats? Do you have color samples? Can we get locally?
Karl, no dealers in your area. Not sue on the Behr color so hard to say what would match. We do have samples on the site to test.
Hello. I have two questions:
Can you provide me with names of any A-C dealers in the Washington, DC area? Preference is for someone in near the Virginia cities of Arlington, Alexandria or Falls Church.
Also, the HOA for my client specifies using “clear” or a “light, transparent stain/sealant” similar to Behr Natural #400 or #500 for decks & rails. Is your stain in Transparent Natural Tone a close match to this? It will be used on PT pine (hopefully new, but possibly sanded/refinished). Thanks!
Is there some kind of clear coat so that the stain will shine and protect wood and stain better
No you cannot add a clear coat on top of a deck stain. It will create all kinds of issues. Peeling, blistering, mold, etc.
Is there some kind of clear coat so that the stain will shine and protect wood and stain better
Best to remove and start over.
Not sure what would match that SW color.
Mahogany color can be applied to cedar but it will not look like the picture as the picture is of IPE wood. Best to get samples to test first.
We have a new cedar deck(2013) that was stained with SW deckscapes ‘Yankee barn’ color. We live in the NE and the area of the deck that gets the most weather exposure (snow/lots of sun) has faded terribly. The rest of the deck looks OK but could use a touch-up coat to brighten it. Do you think we would be best off completely stripping/brightening/cleaning and restaining this year with your better product? Or would it be OK to just reapply the SW to the bad areas for now and then redo in the next year or two? We have SW stain leftover. Can you suggest which of your semi-trans would be closest to this color if you suggest redoing? Can your mahogany stain be applied to red cedar? The rails are trex. Thank you for your help.

Kathleen, AC cannot be tinted. You can airless spray it. No dealers there but we can ship to you from MI in a couple of days.
Are there dealers where I may purchase stain direct in the Indianapolis, Indiana area?
I am planning on cleaning, prepping barn and outbuildings to stain. There is some damaged wood at the base of the barn. I painted our house last year and would prefer the color to be the same on the outbuildings. Is there a stain that will take this color base and can I use it in an airless paint sprayer?
Can you tell me your nearest retailer for your stain closest to Central Coast of California 93428. Thank you

Is this available in Canada, specifically Alberta?
Doug, look at the Armstrong Clark in a semi-transparent or semi-solid color for this. Let weather for 3 months after install and prep first with the Restore A Deck Kit.
I’m having a 24×24 cabin built this summer. It is made with pine boards. I want to stain and seal it to protect the wood. What should I use to do both. This cabin will be built in western Pa. on a shady lot. Thanks
Scott, sorry but there are not dealers there but we can ship to you.
We live in the McKinney Texas area (Dallas) and have read many reviews on your stain and want to see if you have any dealers in our area. We have a 15 year old Deck of PTW that we have stripped, sanded and clenaed and ready for stain and paint.
Sorry but no dealers there but we can ship to you.
do you have any dealers in the Phoenix area?
Best would be the AC in the Mahogany color. Let season for a few months, clean first, then stain. Best to stain with a stain pad applicator.
I have a brand new pie deck what color and satin product would provide good uv protection and keep the natural color of the hardwood the best? Also can I sayin immediately after installation and how should I prep the surface and should I use a brush to apply? Any dealers near Long Beach ca?
Thanks
Jaime

With cedar wood we suggest 2-3 months for this. Stain the exposed wood after the siding is installed. You will need to prep the wood first.
So you do not suggest staining the back of cedar siding?
No Need.

I am building a home with western red tongue and groove cedar siding. I have been getting conflicting information about when to apply stain. Some reputable sources tell me to pre-finish everything, and all sides. Some stain manufacturers tell me to not stain until the wood has weathered for almost a year, clean and brighten, then stain.
Do you recommend using your stain on new cedar? It will be kiln dried. What about back staining?
I have a new redwood deck that I acid cleaned and sanded. I would like a clear finish because I love the color of the wood and UV protection as it will be in the sunlight. Which product should I get and can I get it asap in California?
Terry, you must have color in the stain if you want UV protection. Clears will not offer this. We can ship to you from the website.

Have you tried the Rustic Brown?
Hello Jake, You sent us several samples and we love the product but they are too orange for our liking. Is there a brown you suggest that will allow the grain to show through. We have the Douglas Fir T&G. We also do not want a red undertone, just brown. Thank you!
Lynn, no dealers there but we can ship to you in 2-3 business days.
Do you have any dealers near Albany NY? If not how long does shipment take? I have questions about when to apply.
If you decide to paint later you will need to strip off the AC first then follow directions per the paint manufacturer as for application of their product.
I am planning to use Armstrong Clark stain on Atlantic Cypress clapboards, smooth side out. At a future date, if the house is painted, what sort of sanding/priming procedure would you recommend? Thanks!
Kris, I would wait a few months then prep first with a cleaner and wood brightener. No need to wait a year.
I have a new deck of pressure-treated southern pine in NJ. How long do you recommend waiting before applying Armstrong Clark semi-transparent stain? Are there advantages and/or disadvantages in waiting up to 1 year?
Great!
Within minutes of writing this email, OPW LLC called me back. Cindy answered all my questions about the stains, and got me next day delivery. I am thoroughly impressed with this service.
